Three Attributes Successful People Share!

What makes successful people successful? It’s three shared attributes.

When it comes to living a successful life, everyone wants to know the secret yet few are willing to work for it!

If you’re seeking success, as a business person, parent, partner, spouse, community leader, even spiritually, you need to see, feel and own your success.

As a life coach and trainer, I can confidently say, a very large percentage of individuals fail at being 100% committed to owning their success. They choose the voice of their inner-critic, the voice of criticism and self-doubt, rather than their inner-champion, the voice of strength and determination. Success arrives when you believe in the words of your inner-champion, you can do it, you’re fully committed to your success and you know how great you are.You never doubt yourself, your abilities or your success.

For more than 25 years I was a Dale Carnegie trainer and have had the opportunity to train, coach and work alongside some very successful people. What then are the attributes successful people share?  What do they do that is different from other people? What allows them to live the life they want?

My experience has shown me that there are three prominent attributes separating highly successful people from everyday people.

Successful people…

1.     Believe in Themselves

Those who fail to live their dreams allow their inner-critic to mock them. Their inner-critic says things like, you can’t buy a home, you barely pay your rent each month. You won’t be promoted for every time you’ve tried, have you not failed? Accept the truth you’re never going to be promoted or buy a home! Their inner-critic makes them think less of themselves thus turning their self-confidence into SELF-DOUBT! They resolve themselves to lead a life of frustration and disappointment.

When you put your inner-critic on a starvation diet and STOP listening to it, you will no longer be just another ordinary person, rather you’ll be an EXTRAORDINARY PERSON who has the genuine respect of others. Sadly, most people listen only to their inner-critic’s voice rather than their inner-champion’s voice, no wonder they are falling short of living their dreams. If you think about failure and allow fear to stand in your way you have a far greater chance at disappointing yourself. However, if you think about being successful and living out your dreams, you can live a life full of success and happiness.

Listen to the voice of your inner-champion for it knows how successful you already are.

2.     Never Stop Pushing Themselves

Successful people always push themselves? They make things happen rather than wait for things to happen.

To enjoy success, you must push yourself hard by:

·       Beginning your day at 5:00 AM rather than 7:00 AM.

·       Never accepting your second-best effort.

·       Thinking and acting like a successful person.

·       Continuously learning. Ray Kroc Founder of McDonald’s was once asked what he attributed his success to? He responding by saying, when you’re green you’re growing and when you’re ripe you’re rotting. It was his way of saying he never stopped pushing himself to learn new things.

·       Surround yourself with successful people

I’ve had hundreds of people tell me they want financial security, they want a successful business, they want to own a big house and drive a high-end luxury car, but most are not willing to push themselves hard enough to live an extraordinary life.

Don’t you ever stop pushing yourself. It takes pushing yourself to do what others refuse to do, sacrifice and commitment. Doing so can lead to a life time of happiness and success. It’s not easy doing things you don’t want to do, but that is what separates the successful from the ordinary.

Commit yourself today to do one thing you don’t want to do but know you need to do to live a successful life. Make it simple. Learn a new skill, make a list of what you what to achieve. Attend a meeting that brings successful people together. If you do these things you are showing yourself and other’s that you can push yourself to succeed.

Success requires you to consistently push yourself each day!

3.     Never Give Up on Themselves

Successful people like Abraham Lincoln, Born dirt-poor in a log cabin in Kentucky in 1809, Lincoln grew up in frontier Kentucky and Indiana, where he was largely self-educated… were not born successful. They earned their success by never giving up. They refused to accept their disappointments, learned from their failures, stood up to their critics and never stopped believing in themselves.

Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams, be consistent in your actions, and never give up. If you are serious about achieving outstanding success in life, read, study and learn from successful people, find a mentor. Learn from their failures and successes.

Tune out your inner-critic and tune in your inner-champion, know that you are successful and never quit believing in yourself, ever!

P.S. As you’re probable aware many people are unaware of their inner-critic. Your first step to achieving success is to identify the things that are holding you back including identifying your inner-critic.
